Why a wedding website? Why a wedding website? There are many reasons for a couple to have their own, dedicated wedding website. Before the wedding, the site can host a lot of useful information like the plan for the day/weekend, polls to decide what to do on hen/stag nights, directions and maps to the church and the venues, wedding gift list, RSVPs etc. After the wedding the site will allow the newlyweds to show the photos to friends and family who were not able to come to the day or who live to far to see the couple soon after the event.Will I choose the URL? Yes, and subject to www availability, the domain will be registered by Gagana on your behalf. .com domains incur an extra charge (£5) while .co.uk, .org, .info are included in the price. If your domain is not available you might want to consider different options i.e. using a nick name or surnames. Gagana will help you with this process, advising on the various possibilities. What do I have to provide? You will have to send us in digital format anything that you can think of to make your site special! Photos, stories, menus, song books, messages, links...anything that you like! Please refer to our portfolio for more details. We will help you in selecting the best bits if you are unsure what to choose. How long will my website be available to look at? The site will normally be up and running within a week of receiving all your content. If you don't have everything ready but you wish to see it straight away, we will post a holding page to the live web once the URL is active. It takes a couple of days for this to be approved by the Interinc (which regulates all the domain names). Once is active we are ready to publish. The site will stay up for a year. After a year Gagana will give you the entire site on a CD (extra copies can be made at £5 each), or for a fee we will extend the hosting and renew the domain name. How do I let my guests know about the site? Gagana can design for you a small image banner you can attach to an e-mail and send it to your friends and relatives (you can also use the email address set up especially for you with your package). We can also print for you small cards to insert with the invitations or to give out at the wedding. Please contact us for more details. What if my friends cannot access the Internet? Our main product is the web site itself, but we can offer printed versions to distribute to your friends and relatives who have no mean of using the web. How do I update my site? All the amends and changes are made by Gagana and are normally
achieved within 24 hours. They are included in the price of your
package but anything that you wish to add to it, will be quoted
for prior to execution. We are not able to grant access to our hosting
server but, if you wish, you will be able to buy your domain after
a year and keep it running. |
